Debut EP ‘Dwelling’ to be released Sept. 15
Lilli Joon will perform her four-track album at a live EP release show Oct. 1 at Club Tee Gee in Los Angeles
Lilli Joon, a first-generation Persian-American singer/songwriter in Los Angeles, is excited to announce the release of her debut EP, “Dwelling.” This collection of music is a testament to her willingness to take up space and embrace vulnerability in the pursuit of artistry and healing.
“Dwelling” is a collaborative effort that brings together a talented group of friends who share a passion for creating evocative music. Lilli Joon, whose name is a term of endearment meaning "vital, sweet, life force" in Farsi, leads the way with her mesmerizing vocals and introspective songwriting. Joining her on this musical journey are her co-producer and multi-instrumentalist, Raymond Joseph, who lends his expertise on the keyboard, felt piano, percussion, bass, and background vocals. Corey Leiter, Lilli Joon's fiancé, adds his magic with a variety of guitars, including electric, acoustic, 12-string, and nylon. Wryn contributes enchanting background vocals.
‘Dwelling’ will be available Sept. 15
on all major streaming platforms.
The EP was recorded in an intimate setting at "The Other Room,"
a garage-turned-studio owned by Doron Zounes. The recording
process was a collaborative and soulful experience, capturing the essence of each track in a live setting. Additional recording took place at Hound Sound Studio, adding depth and dimension to the sound.
“Dwelling” is a poignant reflection of Lilli Joon's journey through a year marked by her father's battle with cancer and ultimate passing. Each song offers a raw and authentic glimpse into her world, from the chaos of her father's funeral in "Rose Water Mint Dirt" to the introspective moments of "Empty" and the exploration of cultural responsibility to family in "Piety." Her song "Tip Toe" beautifully explores the delicate dance of caring for her chronically ill mother.
“‘Dwelling’ is a totem of significant growth in my willingness to take up space and be brave enough to dream," Lilli Joon says. The EP is a testament to the power of music to heal, transform, and connect.

She plays her EP release show at Club Tee Gee in Los Angeles on October 1st. It promises to be a memorable night of live music featuring Raymond Joseph and Corey Leiter, who will also showcase their solo projects.
"Dwelling is my first-ever released collection of music and is a totem of significant growth in my willingness to take up space and be brave enough to dream.
The songs were written and recorded during an extremely transformative time in my life: the year my dad died from cancer.
His death catapulted me into a profound state of suspension, where I hovered somewhere in between falling and flying.
Dwelling reflects my attempts to understand, accept, and alchemize. It is a direct and confessional collection of music, which takes listeners into the chaos of my dad’s funeral, my chronically ill mother’s doorway, the immense culturally-informed responsibility to honor my parents above all else, all the way back around to quiet, solitary moments of deep surrender.
I feel so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to make these songs “real.” Thank you thank you thank you to all the wonderful and talented humans who helped make it possible- Raymond Joseph, Corey Leiter, Wryn, Doron Zounes, Sam Plecker, Rob Dobson, and of course, my family."
